What is the Purpose of this Study?

Fleas and ticks can cause lifelong damage, and they are found frequently from Spring through Fall. A preventative treatment is crucial to ensure your dog is protected from infestation. We are currently enrolling a study for a potential new treatment and preventative for fleas and ticks.

This study will evaluate the safety and effectiveness of this newly proposed preventative treatment in dogs.

What is a Clinical Study?

When Do I Have to Go to the Clinic?

There will be scheduled clinic visits periodically for over a year.

What Will Happen in the Study?

There will be:

  • Physical examinations at each visit
  • Periodic blood sample collections
  • Administration of assigned treatment
  • Follow-up phone calls after treatment to assess your dog's health

Is My Pet Eligible to Enroll?

*Requirements for Eligibility to Participate Include (but aren't limited to):

  • Dog is at least 6 months old
  • Dog is generally in good health or stable condition
  • Dog cannot be pregnant or lactating
  • Dog must have live fleas
  • Dog cannot have been recently treated with a flea and tick preventative

What Do I Have to Do?

You are responsible for:

  • Bringing your dog in for the required visit schedule
  • Being available for follow-up phone calls scheduled by clinic personnel
  • Monitoring your pet at home
  • Documenting any unusual observations regarding your dog during the study
  • Completing any required study forms
